BRUCE F. HUMBERSON [Friendsville]

FRIENDSVILLE — Bruce Franklin Humberson, 87, of Friendsville, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, at his residence.

Born Nov. 27, 1926, in Confluence, Pa., he was the son of the late Fred Franklin Humberson and LeWanda (Napp) Humberson Baker. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Geraldine Audrey “Dean” (Friend) Humberson, Aug. 1, 2009; one son, Jerry Humberson; one daughter, Donna Humberson and two brothers, Ronald and Vernon.

Bruce was self-employed all of his life, he owned and operated a timber/trucking business. Later in life he had a store business. He was a trustee of Humberson Home, Inc. and trustee and member of Freedom Chapel, Friendsville. He was a life time member of the local VFW and was a veteran of World War II. Bruce was a singer/song writer of many songs and his passion was singing the gospel to all.

Bruce is survived by two sons, Frederick Humberson and wife, Rosemary, Friendsville, Marty Humberson and wife, Debbie, McKeesport, Pa,; one daughter, Judy Livengood and husband, Norman, Friendsville; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 943 Second Ave., Friends-ville, on Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Philip Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Humberson Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded by local area veteran’s organizations.

Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Hospice of Garrett County or Northern Garrett County Rescue Squad.
