OAKLAND — Leroy "Tink" Collen Stewart, 78, of Oakland, died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013 in his Oakland home.
Born July 23, 1935 in Vindex, he was the son of the late Chris and Lucille (Davis) Stewart. Tink worked as a foreman in the North Branch, Mettiki, and various coal mines in the Maryland and West Virginia area.
Tink is survived by his ex-wife of +25 years, Betty (Smith) Stewart; five brothers, Jerry Stewart, Bob Stewart (Nancy), Wayne Stewart, Russell “Duke” Stewart (Carol), and Dave Stewart; one sister, Shirley “Rose” Kinser; four loving children, Sharon Butler (Mike), Barb Duckworth (Gary), Rick Stewart (Lee Riggleman), and Kathy Stewart (Bobby Tasker); six grandchildren, Michael, Bethany, Britney, Hunter, Levi, Kaylee; and one great-grandchild, Rylan Patrick.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers and sisters, Darrel “Sam” Stewart, Austin (Fid) Stewart, Elenora “Monk” Goodwin, and Marg Hanlin.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Deer Park United Methodist Church, 81 Church St., Deer Park, on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, a memorial service will be officiated by Don Matthews at 11 a.m. at the church.
