KEYSER, W.Va. — Regina “Jeanne” D. McDonald, 70, of 595 Armstrong St., passed away on Friday, June 14, 2013, at her home with her family by her side.

Born in Keyser, W.Va., on June 13, 1943 she was the daughter of the late Franklin Eugene Kagey and Nellie Frances (Armentrout) Kagey. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Sheila Denise Dorsey.

Mrs. McDonald was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was a member of the Fountain United Brethren Church, participated in the choir and the women’s fellowship bells. Mrs. McDonald was a member of Mill Creek Country Club and loved to golf as well as walking for exercise and enjoyment.

One of her favorite pastimes was riding along the side of her husband in her Mazda convertible with hopes of seeing a bear along the way.  She possessed a particular talent in painting and needlework. But, her greatest gift of all was her ability to love and to help those others that may have turned away.

Surviving are her husband, best friend and companion of 52 years, Lowell T. McDonald of Keyser; her children, Karen Babcock and husband Ben of Elkridge, Kathy Harmon and husband Keith of Hummelstown, Pa., Jennifer Suter and husband Chris of Keyser, W.Va., the Rev. Lowell “Mickey” McDonald and wife Nancy of Martinsburg, W.Va. and Jason McDonald of Keyser; her loving grandchildren, Aaron Harmon, Amber Ambush, Matthew McDonald, Corey Harmon, Brian Babcock, Conrad Suter, Bobby Babcock, Joshua Suter, Chase Harmon, Jacob McDonald, Rachel McDonald, Daniel McDonald, Dalton McDonald, Anna McDonald and Aaliyah Suter; her brother Danny Kagey and wife Beth of Columbia; her life-long friend Judy Young of Keyser and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home, 111 S. Mineral St., Keyser on Tuesday, June 18, 2013, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 19 at 11 a.m. at the Fountain United Brethren in Christ Church, Headsville Road, Keyser, with the Rev. Daryl Elliott officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

Interment will follow the service at Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
