JOSEPH E. MCROBIE [Grantsville]

GRANTSVILLE — Joseph Elliott McRobie, 62, of Grantsville, died Monday, June 24, 2013, at his residence.

Born June 7, 1951, in Cumberland, he was the son of Lucille Evelyn (Devers) McRobie Steyer, of Oakland and the late Ernest Joseph McRobie. He was also preceded in death by Kenneth V. Bosley; his step-father, Keith Steyer and two step-brothers, Stanley K. Steyer and Henry L. Steyer.

Mr. McRobie was a comptroller for Rocky Gap Casino and he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Education with emphasis on History from Frostburg State University. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, where he was Charge Treasurer and was also the treasurer of Friends of George Edwards Election Committee. He was also a member of Grantsville Lions Club, Sons of the American Legion, Grantsville Post 214 and former member of the Grantsville Town Council.

He is also survived by a daughter, Andria M. Storey and husband Anthony J., of Upper Marlboro; a brother, Randy L. McRobie, of Bayard, W.Va.; a sister, Naomi O’Haver and husband Ray, of Gorman; two grandchildren, Ella Rose Mull and Dylan Joseph Teets; and his extended family, Rosemary Ferraro, of Arbutus, Juanita A. Bosley, of Oakland, David A. Bosley and wife Lu-Jean, Daniel B. Bosley and wife Angela M., Thomas E. Bosley, Gale L. Bosley and James V. Bosley and wife Mary Lynn.

Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Thursday, June 27, 2013, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Karen Tate officiating. Cremation will follow services.

Expressions of sympathy may be directed to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church or the American Heart Association.
