GLADYS V. YAIDER [Carpendale, W.Va.]

— CARPENDALE, W.Va. — Gladys Virginia Yaider, 70, of Carpendale, passed away on Sept. 18, 2013 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.

Born on July 17, 1943 in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Calvin L. Sr. and Esther Mae (Painter) Yaider. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. “Peanut” Yaider; and a sister, Emma “Liz” See.

Gladys was a graduate of Fort Hill High School, and she worked in Virginia as a superior of Mental Challenged Children. Gladys was a member of the American Legion Aux. Henry Hart Post 13.

She is survived by her daughters, Dana Shrout and husband Ran, Manassas, Va. and Kim Yaider, West Virginia; one sister, Pauline Shrout, Romney, W.Va.; one brother, Calvin L. “Buck” Yaider, Carpendale; granddaughter, Jenifer; great-granddaughter, Kylynn; and numerous nieces and nephews. Gladys’ true love was her dogs, Rusty and Brandy.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013 from 3 to 4 p.m.   

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Paul Dietz officiating.  

Interment will take place at a later date at Restlawn Memorial Park.
