DOLORES L. MARTIN [Cumberland]

— CUMBERLAND — Dolores L. Martin, 87, of Cumberland, formerly of the Kensington, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013 at Allegany House.

Born Dec. 24, 1925, in Mount Savage, she was the daughter of the late Wayne E. and Isabella (Lynch) Lashley. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Martin; her sisters, Dorcas McGann, Frances Wilhelm, Anna Lashley, Coeline Montana, and Isabella Chabot; and brothers, William Lashley, George Lashley, Charles Lashley, Joseph Lashley, and Nevin Lashley; and nephews, James Wilhelm and Wayne Wilhelm.

Dolores was formerly employed at the Old Peoples Drug Store on Baltimore Street in Cumberland and the Celanese. She was a member of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church.

Dolores and John had no children, but had numerous nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. She is survived by two sisters, Sister Mary Ita, S.S.N.D., Baltimore and Eileen Herboldsheimer, Cumberland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, (www.scarpellifh.com) on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m.  

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Oct. 7, 2013 at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church at 10 a.m. with Fr. Bernard Finerty, O.F.M., Cap. as celebrant.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
