— KEYSER, W.Va. — Steven Lee Courtney, 48, of Keyser, died at his home on Thursday, June 27, 2013.

Born on Feb. 26, 1965 in Cumberland, he was a son of Doug and Emma (Bennett) Courtney of Keyser. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Irvin and Hazel Bennett; and his paternal grandparents, Ellison and Rose Courtney.

Steve was a 1983 graduate of Keyser High School and attended Allegany College of Maryland. He was the owner of “Emma’s At The Airport”, Wiley Ford, W.Va. He was a Protestant by faith, a member of the Loyal Order of Moose 662, Keyser, National Rifle Association and a West Virginia football season ticket holder. “Mountaineers are always free”

Surviving in addition to his parents, Doug and Emma Courtney; are his brothers, Randy Courtney of Keyser and Michael Courtney and wife Paula of New Creek, W.Va.; and his sister, Pam Everett of Keyser. He was a loving uncle to two nieces and five nephews, Cindy Stickley and husband Chris of Keyser, Daran Everett and wife Heather of Crosby, Texas, Aaron Courtney and wife Heather of New Creek, Brian Everett of Keyser, Colton Courtney of New Creek, Alissa Courtney of Springfield and Ellison Courtney of New Creek. He is also survived by his great-nieces and a great-nephew, Gracie Stickley, Jordan Stickley, Taylar Everett, Akira Everett, Elaina Everett, Hadley Courtney, Memphis Courtney and Cali Heavner.

Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser, on Monday, July 1, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Randy Crowe officiating.
