CUMBERLAND — Imogene Georgia Fairall, 87, of Cumberland, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012 at Allegany Health Nursing and Rehab.

Born July 24, 1925 in Greenspring, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Clyde Hunter and Susan May (Gurtler) Crites.   She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Lee Fairall; one brother, John Crites.

Mrs. Fairall was a member of the St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Cresaptown. She was a 1943 graduate of Fort Hill High School, and was involved in Club ’43 and the Fort Hill Associates. Imogene enjoyed quilting, reading, sewing, collecting stamps, coins, and Blue Willow china and traveling. Mrs. Fairall was a homemaker and also worked for Lazarus Clothing Store.

Surviving are her two daughters, Linda Sue Morris and husband Michael of Preston, Patricia Ann Godfrey of Cumberland; one son, James W. Castle of Lavale; one sister, Jane Welsh and husband James of Frederick; six grandchildren, Jeffrey Godfrey, Stephanie Sevy, Brian Morris, Kevin Nomura, Patrick Morris, and Katie Morris; three great-grandchildren, Lucas Sevy-Custer, Joseph Morris, and Rion Nomura.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home P.A., Cresaptown, on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. A Christian Wake service will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ambrose Catholic Church on Thursday at 11 a.m. with Father Bernard Finerty O.F.M., Cap. as celebrant.

Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
