— OAKLAND — Leota Elizabeth Dewitt, 81, of Oakland, died on Nov. 30, 2012 at home.  

Born on Oct. 12, 1931 in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late Leo Lee and Mary Ellen (Nair) Kiper.  

She is survived by nine children, Harriet Steffy of Lancaster, Pa., Mayford “Paul” Dewitt and wife Carrie of Oakland, Diann Welch of Oakland, Roy “Bud” Dewitt of Lancaster, Randy Lee Dewitt of Oakland, Joe Dewitt of Oakland, Albert “Snooks” Dewitt and wife Pam of Oakland, Maryann Kinser and husband Harry of Lancaster, and Curt Dewitt and wife Ellen of Oakland; 33 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Shirley Sliger and Betty Kiper; a brother, Roger Kiper; and several nieces and nephews.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William “Boyd” Dewitt, in 1998; a brother, Jimmy Kiper; and a sister, Bonnie Sweitzer.  

Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland, on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.  

A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday, Dec. 3, 2012 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Donald Matthews officiating.  

Interment will follow in Gortner Union Church Cemetery.  

Memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
