MABLE B. VOIT [Romney, W.Va.]

— ROMNEY, W.Va. — Mable Barnes Voit, 77 of Romney, died Nov. 30, 2012 at the Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.

She was born on Dec. 12, 1934 in Romney, daughter of the late Bill and Damie Wince.

Besides her parents, Mable was preceded in death by one brother, Garrett Hansford.

Mable graduated from Romney High School, class of 1952. She retired from the Hampshire County Public Library after years of service. Mable was known for her beautiful roses that she loved growing and her pleasant smile at the library. She was a member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church, Romney, where she helped prepare the communion service for many years.   

Mable is survived by her husband of 59 years, Kenneth E. Voit; three sons, Michael Voit and wife, Mitzi, Romney, Douglas Voit and wife, Tyra, Romney, Christopher and wife, Jamie, Slanesville, W.Va.; one sister, Nellie Raines, Romney; and five grandchildren, Michelle Voit, Winchester, Travis Voit, Charles Town, W.Va., Will Voit, Romney, Blaize Voit and Kendall Voit, Slanesville.

Friends will be received at the Shaffer Funeral Home in Romney on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m.

The funeral service will be conducted at the Shaffer Funeral Home, Romney, on Monday, Dec. 3, 2012 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Don Kesner officiating.

Interment will be at Salem Cemetery, Slanesville.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Hampshire County Public Library, 153 W. Main St., Romney, WV 26757.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Shaffer Funeral Home, Romney.
