— CUMBERLAND — Kermis Ray Pierce, 56, of Cumberland, passed away Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at his home.

Born June 13, 1956, in Cumberland, Mr. Pierce was the son of the late William C. Pierce and Betty Elaine (Simmons) Pierce.

A United States Army veteran, Ray retired from Sasol in Baltimore, as chemical operator and plant supervisor.  

He is survived by his companion of 30 years, Julie Whorton, Cumberland; his sons, Aaron Ray Pierce and Billy Pierce; and a daughter, Nora Pierce of South America. Ray is also survived by his sisters, Vivian E. Pierce, Cumberland, Jacqueline Litzinger of Florida and Sherry Burkey and husband, Darryl of Virginia; his brother, William W. Pierce, Baltimore; his nieces and nephews, Robert Pierce, Jennifer Woods, Jamie Pierce, and Tracey Morgan; as well as numerous other nieces and nephews.

Services will be private and conducted at a later date.
