MARION E. SHADWELL [Cumberland]

CUMBERLAND — Marion Elaine Shadwell, 86, of Cumberland, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013 at the Golden Living Center, surrounded by her family.

Born Aug. 10, 1927 in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late John William and Minnie (Ellsworth) Randall. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey L. Shadwell Jr. on Feb. 11, 1998; four sisters, Helen Rice, Ruth Bittner, Dorothy Phillips, and Jane Randall; and a brother, J. Kenneth Randall.

Elaine was a 1946 graduate of Fort Hill High School and a member of Emmanuel-Bethel United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her son, Harvey L. Shadwell Jr. and wife Darla, Cumberland; a daughter, Barbara Ann Westfall and husband Glen, Cumberland; a brother, Raymond Randall, Frostburg; a sister, Janet Wade, Cumberland; six grandchildren, William Bauman and wife Melissa, Charles Bauman II, Greg Shadwell and wife Deanna, Tammy Ryan, Glenn Westfall Jr. and Bobbi Jean Files and husband Hunter; and several great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a special friend, Boyd Robertson, Cumberland.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, (www.scarpellifh.com) on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013 from 2 to 4 p.m.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Richard Jewell officiating.                           

Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
