— ROMNEY, W.Va. — Audrey Maxine (Cosner) Saville, 88, of Romney, W.Va., passed away on Friday, Dec. 27, 2013 surrounded by her loving family at Hampshire Health Care Center in Romney, W.Va.

She was born on Nov. 10, 1925 in Green Spring Valley to the late Gilbert E. Cosner and Edna (Cutlip) Cosner.

She was a well-known teacher in Hampshire County for 38 years. She retired in 1984 from John J. Cornwell Elementary School. She loved all of her students and often spoke of them with fond memories. She was a member of Hampshire County Farm Bureau for more than 61 years, a member of the Hernando County Farm Bureau in Spring Hill, Florida for 14 years, a member of the Sigma Sigma Sorority at Shepherd College and a member of the Hampshire County Retired Teachers Association. She was a member of Forest Glenn Methodist Church until her marriage and then moved membership to Branch Mt. United Methodist Church in Three Churches, W.Va.

Surviving are her son, Royce B. Saville and his wife Sharon of Romney; four grandchildren, Melissa Anne Saville, Lauren Ashley and her husband David Amtower, Meagan Elizabeth Saville and Philip Clarke Saville; two great-grandsons, Grant Wesley Murray and Seth Grayson Amtower; one great-granddaughter, Sophia Katerin Murray.

Audrey was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Earl Blair Saville who died Jan. 22, 2002; four brothers, Emwood Cosner, Stanley Cosner, Harl Cosner and French Cosner; four sisters, Gladys Chesshire, Dorothy Messick, Martha Mulledy and Juanita Pledger.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013 at 3 p.m. at Romney First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Roy Knight and the Rev. Norman Landis officiating. Interment will follow in Branch Mt. Methodist Cemetery at Three Churches, W.Va.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12 p.m. until time of service at 3 p.m. at the church.
