ALINE H. “SKIPPY” DOAK [Vero Beach, Fla.]

VERO BEACH, Fla. — Aline Helen “Skippy” Doak, of Vero Beach, Fla., died Monday, May 28, 2012, at the Hospice House, Vero Beach, Fla.

She was born in Cumberland, and wintered in Vero Beach for 29 years, coming from Colonial Heights, Va.

She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Vero Beach and the Military Officers Association Auxiliary. Skippy also was active in Military Officers Wives clubs wherever her husband was stationed. As a proud Army wife, she traveled extensively with him throughout Europe, Hawaii and the Far East.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Colonel (Ret.) Robert L. Doak, of Vero Beach, as well as a son, Robert L. Doak II and his wife Cindy Doak, of Church Road, Va.

She was preceded in death by her sister Ethiel, a brother Paul and a grandson, Andy.

Memorial donations maybe made to the Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, June 5, at 11 a.m. in Our Savior Lutheran Church, Vero Beach.

Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery.
