GREENFIELD, Mass. — Renate Wolff Goepp, 92, of Greenfield, died Monday, Feb 4, 2013, at Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield. She succumbed to a massive stroke.
She was born March 16, 1920, in Berlin, Germany, and emigrated as a refugee from the Nazi regime in October 1938. She graduated with a B.A. from Goucher College, an M. Ed. from Smith College, and M.A., Ph.D, from Bryn Mawr College. In her lifetime she was both a teacher and an author, and published five books.
She was married to Philip H. Goepp, II, of Philadelphia, who predeceased her in 1987.
She is survived by her son, Julius Goepp; Philip Goepp’s daughter, Susan Goepp Kryger, his son Philip H. Goepp III and his wife Michelle; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
