JOHN F. “JACK” KRAMPF [Cumberland]

CUMBERLAND — John “Jack” Francis Krampf, 80, of Cumberland, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.

Born April 4, 1933 in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Emil E. Krampf and Lucille (Robertson) Krampf.

Jack had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Krampf retired from the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company, where he had been a draftsman and surveyor.

Jack was a life-long member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. In his youth, he belonged to Cumberland Chapter Order of DeMolay. He then joined East Gate Lodge 216, A.F. & A.M. He was also a member of the Fort Hill Rifle & Pistol Club.

His family was his hobby. He and Jean never missed any event their children and grandchildren were ever involved in!

Jack is survived by his wife of 58 years, Millie “Jean” (Hinds) Krampf; his daughter, Suzanne Boyd and husband Ron, Cumberland; son Jack Krampf Jr. and wife Becky, Cumberland; daughter, Dianne Shuck and husband Dave, Cumberland; grandchildren, Jonathan Boyd and fiancé Debra, Washington, D.C., Jennifer Krampf, Ocean City, Eric Boyd, Catonsville, Daniel Krampf and wife Brandi, Cumberland, Mark Wiseman and wife Stephanie, LaVale, Jordan Wiseman and wife Amanda, Cumberland, Cassie Deffinbaugh and husband Len, Charlotte, N.C.; two great-grandchildren, Landen and Abram; and one brother, Emil Krampf and wife Janet, Cumberland. He also leaves behind his beloved pets, Max and Baby.

Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

East Gate Lodge 216, A.F. & A.M. will conduct a memorial service at the funeral home on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. David Wright officiating.

Interment will be in the Maryland State Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap, where military honors will be accorded by Post 13 Veterans Honor Guard.

Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Jonathan Boyd, Eric Boyd, Daniel Krampf, Mark Wiseman, Jordan Wiseman, and dear friend, Richard Blank.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.

The family would like to thank the staff at Ruby Memorial Hospital for their heroic efforts.
