PAW PAW, W.Va. — Harry “Jack” Weaver, 88, of Paw Paw, died Thursday, April 25, 2013 at his home.
He was born Feb. 25, 1925 at Cumberland, and was the son of the late Charles B. Weaver and Chloe Kerns Weaver.
Jack was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Bailey during Wordl War II. He worked for the Railway Postal Service and later served as Paw Paw Postmaster from 1964 to 1983. He was a lifetime member of the Harley Bohrer American Legion Post 128 in Paw Paw and a member of the National Postmaster Association.
On Feb. 18, 1950, he married Betty L. Robertson Weaver, who survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Cynda Shambaugh and husband, Frank of Fayetteville, N.C., Lu Ann Rowzee and husband, Allan of Shanks, W.Va., Lori Davis and husband, Ronald of Paw Paw; one son, Andy Weaver and wife, Jamie of Paw Paw; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2013 at the Kimble Funeral Home, 188 Moser Ave., Paw Paw, with Pastor Richard White officiating.
Burial will be at Camp Hill Cemetery at Paw Paw with military graveside services conducted by members of the Cumberland American Legion Post 13 Veterans Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the Kimble Funeral Home in Paw Paw.
