ANN C. WASHINGTON [Keyser, W.Va.]

KEYSER, W.Va. —  Ann Christy Washington, 77, of Carskadon Lane, Keyser, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at her residence.

Born on Feb. 26, 1936 in Pittsburgh, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Waddell and Clemetine (Washington) Sells. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Theodore “Dub” Washington on Feb. 14, 2009; a sister, Jean Vickers; and a brother, Burt Sells. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Christy was a lab technician. She was a member of Bonnieview Apostolic Chapel and a volunteer at Heartland of Keyser.   

Surviving are her special niece and caregiver, Dorene F. Allen and special cousin, Jackie Washington, both of Keyser; aunt, Jenevie Gray, niece, Leslie Vickers, nephew, Robert Vickers, all of Pittsburgh; and cousin, Jeannette Hamilton of Paw Paw, W.Va. She is also survived by her late husband’s nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins and her special pet dog and companion, Gabriel.   

Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser, on Friday, May 17, 2013 from 6 to 9 p.m.  

Funeral services will be conducted in the Bonnieview Apostolic Chapel, New Creek Drive, Keyser, on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Darnell Allen and the Rev. Daniel Garlitz officiating. Friends will be received at the church one hour prior to services.

Private family burial services will be held in Philos Cemetery, Westernport, at a later date.

The family would like to thank Dr. Mahesh Shroff for his special care and the Potomac Valley Hospice.
