— RIDGELEY, W.Va. —  Janet Marie (Pollock) Davis, 75, of Ridgeley, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2013, at her home.

Born Dec. 12, 1937, in Ridgeley, Mrs. Davis was the daughter of the late Robert William Pollock and Marie O. (Jewell) Pollock. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Louise Fiorita; and two nieces, Dawn M. Counihan and Dorothy Smith.

A graduate of Allegany High School, class of 1956, Janet retired as a supervisor from People’s Life Insurance Company in North Carolina. She was a member of the Church of the Annunciation, Fort Ashby, W.Va., where she was a former member of the church choir. Janet was also a former member of the Rainbow Girls and was very involved with her class reunion committee. Janet was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting, making quilts for many people. Janet was a loving and caring aunt to 14 nieces and nephews; 31 great nieces and nephews; and three great-great nieces and nephews.

Janet is survived by her husband of 55 years, Edward J. Davis; her sisters, Mary Kay Chaney and husband Bob, Short Gap, W.Va. and Patty Counihan, Cumberland; and her brother, Robbie Pollock and wife, Vonnie, Ridgeley.

Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, ( on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 from 6 to 9 p.m.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Mountains Parish, SS. Peter and Paul Shrine, on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 10 a.m.

Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
