— HAGERSTOWN —    Iona McDonald Quillen, 78, of 17437 Virginia Ave., Hagerstown, died on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born May 12, 1934, in Romney, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Marvin Eugene McDonald and Frances Nettie Keckley McDonald Edwards.

She was a 1952 graduate from Romney High School, and attended Strayer University.

She was employed by Air Flow Company of Frederick, Pangborn Corporation in Hagerstown and Knoxville, Tenn., and also Fairchild Corporation in Hagerstown.

She was a member of the Paramount Baptist Church.

She enjoyed genealogy research on family history and spending time with her family.

She is survived by one daughter, Wanda Gearhart of Hagerstown; one son, Frank Quillen and wife, Geannie of Smithsburg; four grandchildren, David Yoder, Melanie Alegre, Pete and Derick Quillen; four great-grandchildren, David Anthony, Alyssa, Jonathan and Maya; numerous cousins; and an adopted brother, Michael Edwards.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Dr. Larry Rickard will officiate.  

Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
