C. BERDELL BISHOFF [Petersburg, W.Va.]

PETERSBURG, W.Va. — Chester Berdell Bishoff, 90, of Petersburg, died Sunday, March 31, 2013 at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, Va.

He was born Aug. 28, 1922 in Keyser, W.Va., and was a  son of the late Chester K.  and Frances (Kalbaugh) Bishoff. Also preceded by one son, Douglas D. Bishoff in 2010; and one step-son, Tim White in 2001.

Mr. Bishoff established Bishoff's Studio and Camera Center in Moorefield, W.Va. in 1949 and later expanded  his business to Petersburg known as Bishoff's Studio & Florist.

He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of the VFW Post 6454 and American Legion Post 78 of Petersburg.

He was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church.

He was awarded the Eagle Scout Award and the Silver Beaver Award. He was a  member of the Moorefield Lions Club for over 60 years. He was a Combined Life Insurance Agent until 2003.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Voneta Rose "Bonnie" (Wyatt) Bishoff; one daughter, Lucinda "Cindy" Allen and husband Jim of Baker, W.Va.; one daughter-in-law, Glenda Bishoff of Moorefield, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Nick Bishoff,  Bethany Allen Perez, Jamie Allen, Jason Allen; one great-grandson, Seth Bishoff; two step-daughters, Pam White of Petersburg, Michelle Brown of Strasburg, Va.; three step-sons, Andy White of Cleveland, Ohio, Jay White of Fisher, W.Va., Michael White of Philadelphia, Pa.; eight step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Jean Harman of Keyser; one brother, William K. Bishoff and wife  Joyce of Lebanon, Ohio.

Family will receive friends Tuesday 6 to 8 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.

Funeral service will be Wednesday 11 a.m. April 3, 2013 at Main Street United Methodist Church in Petersburg with the Rev. Carl VanStavern and Pastor Rick Bergdoll officiating.  

Interment will be in the Olivet Cemetery in Moorefield with Military rites by the Petersburg VFW Post 6454.

Arrangements under the direction of Schaeffer Funeral Home, Petersburg.
