— CUMBERLAND — Mary Catherine (Rose) Hadley, 72, of Cumberland, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.

Born Dec. 31, 1940, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Ellis A. Rose and Hilda A. (Grabenstein) Rose. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, George Hadley and two sisters, Delores Rose and Hilda (Rose) Peterson.

Mrs. Hadley previously was a secretary for the Department of Agriculture. Mrs. Hadley graduated from Saint Mary’s Girls High School class of 1958 and Catherman’s Business School. She was a member of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church, the Church Sodality and the South Cumberland Businessmen’s Association as well as a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Carl B. “Burt” Hadley; two sons, Craig B. Hadley and wife Bridget, of Cumberland and Keith E. Hadley and wife Kristie, of Hedgesville, W.Va.; one daughter, Tammy Marie (Hadley) Deatelhauser and husband William, of Cumberland; nine grandchildren, Tonya Deatelhauser and partner Will Suter, Charley Deatelhauser, Elisabeth Humberson and husband Derek, Kaitlyn Hadley, Taylor Teaford, Meghan Teaford, Andrea Blackburn and husband Jason, Kayla Steckman, and Nichole Bishop and husband Travis. Also surviving are nine great-grandchildren, Angela, Liam, Cace, Kinsley, Drake, Rowynn, Arabella, Cage and Baylen; two sisters, Rita Crabtree, of Youngwood, Pa. and Loretta Dixon, of State College, Pa. and four brothers, Donald Rose and George Rose, of Cumberland and Paul Rose and Leo Rose, Oldtown and also numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, (www.scarpellifh. com) on Friday, April 5, 2013, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Christian Wake service will be held at 4 p.m. with Father Greg Chervanek, O.F.M., Cap. officiating.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Mary’s Catholic Church, 300 East Oldtown Road on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at 10 a.m. with Father Greg Chervanek, O.F.M., Cap as celebrant.                              

Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Tan and his staff for their continued service of thirty years. Also a special thank you to Linda and her staff at New Hope Assisted Living for their wonderful care during the past year.
