— MEYERSDALE, Pa. — Roland Duane “Sike” Gomer, 61, of Meyersdale, Pa., died Thursday, April 4, 2013, at the Martinsburg VA Hospital.

Born in Meyersdale on March 24, 1952, to the late George T. and Catherine (Geiger) Gomer, he was also preceded in death by his brother, George "Bud" Gomer.

He is survived by his sons, Roland “Duane” Gomer Jr. and his wife Crista, of Bedford and Jordon Baker, of Mount Savage; daughters, Tina Doman and her husband Matthew, of LaVale, Nanette Johnson and her husband Doug, of Wellersburg and Monica Wilson and her finance Steve Troutman, of Meyersdale; sisters, Audrey (Les) Beeman, of Wellersburg, Bonita Lepley, of Wellersburg and Zona (Sonny) Murphy, of Ohio; many nieces and nephews; a very dear and special friend Bev Resh.

Roland was a United States Marine. Sike was known by many as Mountain Man, Big Stick and Big Daddy. He loved to ride his Harley and loved his Ford truck.

Friends will be received on Sunday, April 7, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 at the M. Ray Leckemby Funeral Home in Meyersdale.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, April 8, 2013, at 11 a.m. in the M. Ray Leckemby Funeral Home with Pastor Connie Garlick officiating.

Interment to follow at the White Oak Cemetery.
