KEYSER, W.Va. — Hazel “Kathy” Conrad, 61, of Carolina Avenue, Keyser, W.Va., died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland.

Born on May 27, 1951, in Cumberland, she was a daughter of Norma (Pancake) Ellifritz, of New Creek, W.Va. and the late George W. Ellifritz. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, Stanley Donald Conrad II, who passed away on Dec. 12, 2008.

Mrs. Conrad was employed as a speech pathologist with the Mineral County School System for over 20 years. She was a 1969 graduate of Morgantown High School and received her Master's Degree from West Virginia University in 1987. She also was employed at WVU Hospital in the Anatomy and Dermatology Departments for 17 years. She was a member of the Sunnyside Church of the Brethren, New Creek, and was an avid reader. She thoroughly enjoyed the time spent with all of her nieces and nephews and taking care of her cats.

Surviving, in addition to her mother, are two sisters, Rebecca Saville and husband Donald, of Keyser and Sue Potts and husband Charles, of Elwood City, Pa.; a brother-in-law, Steven Conrad, of Ranson, W.Va.; a sister-in-law, Betsy Dougherty and husband Mike, of Kearneysville, W.Va.; nieces and nephews, Marsha Gifford and husband Joe, Sarah Potts, Brian Potts and wife Brittani and Tabetha and Joshua Dougherty and two grandnieces, Makenzie Housden and Abigail McQuiston.

Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. James “Sonny” Dodds officiating.

Interment will be in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
