FORT ASHBY, W.Va. — Edna Jean Sours, 83, of Fort Ashby, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013 at The Dawnview Center.
Born Nov. 14, 1929 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Kirkendall) Reckline.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank M. Sours Jr., a World War II veteran; a son, David A. Sours, a Viet Nam veteran; a daughter, June M. McNeil; two sisters, Ruth Johnson and Josephine Pulsford; and two brothers, Sigmund Reckline and Ronald Reckline.
Mrs. Sours was a homemaker and enjoyed being with her family.
Survivors include her six children, Frank M. Sours III and wife, Shirley, Perry Hall, Debra Chaney and husband Tom, Pasadena, Md., Cynthia Yokum and husband Ben, Roxboro, N.C., Robin Ullery, Three Churches, W.Va., Joan Kesner and husband Skip, Springfield, W.Va., and Chip Sours and wife Laura, Fort Ashby; two sisters, Eleanor Robbins and Mary Tully, both of Baltimore; one brother, Amos Reckline, Jessup; 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
Friends will be received at the McCully-Polyniak Funeral Home, 3204 Mountain Road, Pasadena, Md., on Monday, Jan. 7, 2013 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
A committal service will be conducted at the Baltimore National Cemetery, 5501 Frederick Ave., Baltimore, on Monday at 2 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
