AUGUSTA, W.Va. — Teddy Lee “Ted” Davis, 78, of Augusta, passed away Jan. 20, 2013 at Hampshire Center, Romney, W.Va.
Born May 20, 1934 in Augusta, he was the son of the late Wilbur Davis and Naomi (Peer) Davis Nickelson.
He was a member of the Tearcoat Church of the Brethren and the Mt. Cruisers Car Club. Ted retired from the Hampshire County Board of Education where he was a school bus driver and later was a mechanic for the bus garage. He enjoyed spending time working his garage and was an avid antique car enthusiast.
Surviving is three sons, Lee Davis and wife Paula of Augusta, Glenn Davis of North Platt, Neb., Carl Smith and wife Terri of Fayetteville, N.C.; four daughters, Kathy Alderman of Augusta, Debbie Hiett and husband Marty of Paw Paw, W.Va., Brenda Daugherty and husband Lyle of Rio, W.Va., Sandy Hott and husband Denny of Kirby, W.Va.; four sisters, Geraldine Wolford of Martinsburg, W.Va., Janice Lofton of Allenwood, Pa., Cookie Hott and husband John of Romney, Francis Davis of Montana; one brother, Jimmy Davis of Augusta; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013 at 10 a.m. at the McKee Funeral Home Chapel in Augusta with Pastor Robert Jeffreys and Pastor Tom Rowan officiating.
Interment will follow in Tearcoat Cemetery Augusta.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at the funeral home.
All arrangements are being handled by the McKee Funeral Home of Augusta.
