— CUMBERLAND — Patericia June “Pat” Parks, 81, of Cumberland, passed away Monday, Sept. 23, 2013.  

Born Aug. 26, 1932 in Mount Storm, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Merle M. and Ruth Leona (Secrist) Parks. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Frances Faye Moreland.

Pat was a registered nurse, a graduate of Fairmont School of Nursing, and a B.A. degree from Johns Hopkins University. She was a retired nurse from Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland and formerly employed at Baltimore City Hospitals. Pat was a U.S. Army Korean Conflict veteran.

Surviving are her brother, Merle Michael “Mike” Parks of York, Pa.; and her nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser, W.Va., on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m.  

Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Friday, Sept. 27, 2013 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Karen J. Long officiating.

Interment will follow in Maysville Cemetery, May-sville, W.Va., where military honors will be accorded.
