LAVALE — Evelyn Romaine Hay Robinson, 93, of LaVale, passed away Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.

Born in Berlin, Pa., on July 18, 1920, she was the daughter of the late John Nevin Hay and Edith Minerva Engle Hay.

Besides her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, William T. Robinson; son, James Edmund Robinson; sisters, Helen Miller and Margaret Perez; brothers, Robert Hay and John Hay.

Mrs. Robinson was a lieutenant and nurse in the United States Air Force from 1943 to 1946. After leaving the military, she was a registered nurse.  

She was a member of the LaVale United Methodist Church, LaVale Rescue Squad, a founding member of Meals on Wheels and served for 20 years as a volunteer hospice nurse.

Evelyn is survived by her son, William F. Robinson and his late wife Rita of Friendsville; grandchildren, William James Robinson, Esq. of Atlanta, Ga., Dr. Joshua Robinson and wife Dr. Amy R. Robinson of State College, Pa. and their children, Abigail Robinson, James Robinson and Ethan Robinson, and Dr. Jeremy Robinson and wife Dr. Rachel Robinson of Washington, D.C., and their daughter, Olivia Robinson.

Friends will be received at Hafer Funeral Service, P.A. — Chapel of the Hills, 1302 National Highway, LaVale, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Bernadette Ross officiating.

Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Graveside military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post 13.
