STANLEY “CALVIN” CLINE [Cumberland]

CUMBERLAND — Stanley “Calvin” Cline, 79, of Cumberland, passed away Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at the Lions Center for Rehabilitation and Extended Care.

Born April 12, 1934, in Walnut Township, Pickaway County, Ohio, Mr. Cline was the son of the late Stanley Cline and Mary Alice (Mauler) Cline. He was also proceeded in death by a brother, Jim Cline.

The last surviving member of his immediate family, Stanley was a graduate of Mount Sterling High School, Mount Sterling, Ohio. He retired from the United States Navy and the Civil Service and was employed by the Veterans Administration Hospital in California. Stanley started with the Blue Lodge 369, Mount Sterling and then affiliated to the Mountain Lodge 99, Frostburg. He was also a member of the San Diego, Calif., Scottish Rite then affiliated to the Cumberland Scottish Rite in March 1980, where he was a 32nd degree KCCH, in December 2005, as well as Past Venerable Master in 2006 and a member of the Retirement Club and the Ali Ghan Shrine Club. Stanley served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars and in 1966 received the Navy Commendation Medal for meritorious service.

Stanley is survived by his wife of 13 years, Carol Ann Lindsey-Cline; his children, Timothy Cline, of Perris, Calif., Lisa Brown and her husband Jeff, of Visalia, Calif. and Leslie Rule, of Sacramento, Calif.; Carol’s children, Beth Hout and husband Darrell, of Hagerstown, David Lindsey and wife Tammy, of LaVale and Stephen Lindsey and wife, Alyssa, of Hebron; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Jack George officiating.

Interment will be in the Maryland State Veterans' Cemetery at Rocky Gap at a later date.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Lions Center for the care and compassion given to Stanley Calvin Cline.
