— CUMBERLAND — Edward E. Eyler Sr., of Cumberland, died Oct. 30, 2013 at the age of 85.

Born Dec. 31, 1927 in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Walter J. and Frances (Thomas) Eyler. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Olive Virginia Eyler, on July 18, 2013; and two brothers, Walter S. and A. Bernard Eyler.

Ed and Virginia were the owners of Eyler’s Flower Basket in LaVale. Previously he was associated with Eyler’s Wallpaper, Cumberland. He was the last of the original members of the West Side Athletic Association.

He is survived by his son, Edward E. Eyler Jr. and wife Brenda, Phoenix Ariz.; daughter, Suzanne Keith and husband K.C., Cumberland; Also surviving are four grandchildren, BJ Keith and wife Jill, Cumberland, Kelly Beck and husband Gary, Costa Rica, Nathaniel Eyler, Phoenix and Trista Read and husband Darin, Phoenix; and seven great-grandchildren, Sierra Golden, Makenna and Jacob Keith, Cumberland, Kristian and Shelby Eyler, and Trevor and Hudson Read, Arizona.

By request he will be cremated and a private ceremony will be held at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland. (
