— CUMBERLAND — Carol Ann Bussard, 59, of Cumberland, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.

Born on June 1, 1954 in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Walter Ray and Mary Fay (Sharon) Bussard.  

Carol had a love for being with children. She loved helping children and faithfully gave of her time. Carol was involved in the Youth Ministries at Cumberland Grace Brethren Church, and also helped with youth bowling leagues at White Oak Lanes. She also loved spending time with her family, and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Surviving are her sister, Linda Blizzard and husband Kenneth; her brother, Leland Bussard wife Joni; nieces and nephews, Travis Bussard and wife Jennifer, Justin Bussard and wife Sarah, Brandon Bussard, Lucinda Lassiter, Leslie Helmick and husband Eric, Larissa Patton and husband Adam; great-nieces and nephews, Madison, Gabriel, Sydney, Jahvon; aunts and uncles, Herman Bussard, Marge Sharon, Doug and Cathy Durbin.  

As per her request, she will be cremated.

A memorial service will be held at Cumberland Grace Brethren Church on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Ray McCoy officiating.  

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Schwab Family Cancer Center at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, 12500 Willowbrook Road, Cumberland MD 21502.

“For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near.  I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:6-7

The family wishes to thank the staff of Schwab Family Cancer Center and the Wound Center of the Western Maryland Health System for their care of Carol during her illness.
