MARVIN L. WRIGHT [Wiley Ford, W.Va.]

WILEY FORD, W.Va — Marvin L. Wright, 77, of Wiley Ford W.Va., passed away Feb 20th at Devlin Manor, Cumberland, with his daughter by his side.

Marvin also known as "Buck", was born, in Wiley Ford, W.Va., on May 12, 1936.  He was the son of the late Harry M. and Thelma B Wright, of Wiley Ford. He was preceded in death by a brother, David Jock Wright, and two nephews, Dave Jr. and Mack Wright.

He is survived by one daughter, Kelly Ann (Wright) George, and husband Ray Porky George of Cresaptown. One nephew, Larry Wright, of Kirby W.Va., whom he raised; his beautiful granddaughter, Cheyenne George which was his pride and joy; four nieces, Karis Wright Feidler, August W.Va., Laura Horner and Jamie of Morgantown, Mary Kimble and Chip of Winchester, Va., and Lindsey Shuman and Dayton of Newnan, Ga., along with several great nieces and nephews.

He served in the US Army. He was retired from Ironworkers Local 568 of Cumberland, and was also a Superintendent for AC Leadbetter and Sons out of Toledo, Ohio.

He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish and golf. He was a founding member of Tri-State Coonhunters Association, in Eckard, and in 1999, he won the UKC World coon hunt championship with his walker coonhound World Champion, Grand Nite Champion, Grand Show Champion Hillside Treeing Kate. He loved playing golf, he played with the Grasshoppers golf team, and went on many golf trips with his golfing buddies. He was involved in many clubs VFW, Good Fellowship and Moose.

If anyone knew him, he was a wonderful father, and pappy and great friend to many. He will be greatly missed.

The family will hold a Celebration of His Life on Saturday March 1st at the Cumberland Outdoor Club from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Family and friends are encouraged to come To Honor and Celebrate his wonderful Life and all of the great memories.

Interment will be private at Rocky Gap.

Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Scarpelli Funeral Home on Virginia Ave. Cumberland MD 21502 for the college fund of his granddaughter Cheyenne George .

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.
