CUMBERLAND — Wilma Jean Younger, 79, of Cumberland, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born Oct. 2, 1933, in Cumberland, Mrs. Younger was the daughter of the later Walter Younger and Elizabeth Selene (Smith) Younger. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Norman Younger; a sister, Mary Jane Beckwith; a sister-in-law, Jolee Younger; and a special niece, Zenzell Younger.
A homemaker, Jean was a member of the Metropolitan A.M.E. Church, the Fort Cumberland Post 13 American Legion Auxiliary and the Henry Hart Post 1411 V.F.W Auxiliary.
She is survived by her son, Roger D. Younger; her brothers, Walter Younger, Dwight Young-er, Lionel Younger, William "Dump" Younger, and Leroy Younger and his wife, Sheila, all of Cumberland; her sisters, Florence Meade and husband, George, Mary Barnett and husband, Donald, all of Cumberland, Angela Nicholson and husband, Floyd, Hagerstown, Virginia Jessie and husband, Wanzel Sr., Frances Sell and husband, William, Norma Younger, all of Cumberland, Linda Whitehead and husband, Glander, Baltimore, and Deborah Moore and husband, Darrell, Charlotte, N.C.; as well as four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday, Nov. 19, 2012 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Alfred Deas Jr. and Elder Darin Mency officiating.
