— KEYSER, W.Va. — Kathryn "Kitty" Nora (D'Agostino) Whetzell Adams, 85, of Keyser, died Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at her residence.

Born on March 9, 1928 at Windber, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Frank and Rose (Petronio) D'Agostino. She also was preceded in death by her second husband, James W. Adams; a sister, Mary Palsia LaPorta; and four brothers, Dominick, Forgie, Frank and John D'Agostino.

Mrs. Adams retired as a cook from the former Roundhouse Restaurant in Keyser after 48 years of service and later as the owner and operator along with her husband and her daughter. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, caring for her pets and cooking and baking for her family.

Surviving are one daughter, Marjorie (Whetzell) Elkins and husband Robert of Keyser; a son, Robert Whetzell and wife Cynthia of Front Royal, Va.; two sisters, Angie Horner and husband Merle of Windber, and Jospehine Jerin of Tampa, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Sally D'Agostino of Windber; four grandchildren, Robin Elkins, John Elkins and companion Joyce Beadles and Kevin Elkins and wife Christy, all of Keyser and Christina (Whetzell) Schmohl and husband Kevin of Linden, Va.; four great-grandchildren, Kathryn "Kate" Elkins, Steven Elkins, Ava Schmohl and Isaac Schmohl and children and grandchildren of the Beadles family, all of whom considered her as their "Grandma."

The family will receive friends and family for an informal gathering to share fond memories and reflections on Friday, April 5, 2013 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel.

The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to the Faith In Action Food Pantry, 71 James St., Keyser, WV 26726.
