SUE E. DERSIN [Fort Ashby, W.Va.]

Together Again

FORT ASHBY, W.Va. — Sue Ellen Dersin, 72, of Fort Ashby, died Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.

Born Dec. 9, 1940 in Hampshire County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Howard E. Beery and Clara Virginia (Payne) Beery.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Donald Dersin in 2010; and two sisters, Dot Graham and Jo Beery.

In addition to being a homemaker, Mrs. Dersin enjoyed playing the piano and drawing. While a resident at The Dawnview Center, she liked to play cards and Bingo with the residents.

Survivors include her daughter, Terry Laughlin and husband Daniel, Fort Ashby; two sons, Joseph Michael Dersin and wife Cathy, Short Gap, W.Va. and Eric Dersin, Fort Ashby; one brother, Ed Beery, Wiley Ford, W.Va.; three sisters, Betty Messick, Springfield, W.Va. and Ruby Wolfe and Carol Beery, both of Romney, W.Va.; five grandchildren, Scott Dersin, Erica Dersin, Elisha Dersin, Drew Dersin Perry, and Aaron Dersin; and, six great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, Inc., Route 28, Fort Ashby, on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.

The funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Saturday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Gene Cecil officiating.

Interment will be in Fort Ashby Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Dr. Matyasik and all of the staff members at The Dawnview Center for the kind, compassionate care provided to Mrs. Dersin.
