VIOLA YODER [Grantsville]

— GRANTSVILLE — Viola Yoder, 90, of Grantsville, died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at her residence.

Born Jan. 31, 1923, in Grantsville, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Anna (Miller) Yoder. She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Floyd, Claude, Alvin, Olen and Paul Yoder; eight sisters, Beulah Bender, Elva Bender, Edna Yoder, Alta Miller, Verda Beitzel, Thelma Beitzel, Glenola Miller and Leola Yoder and unnamed triplets. Viola, Glenola and Leola were triplets.

Mrs. Yoder was a homemaker and a member of Cherry Glade Mennonite Church and sewing circle.

She is survived by her husband, Olen J. “Tom” Yoder; seven sons, Duane Yoder and wife, Earleen Beckman, Swanton, Oren Yoder and wife, Wendy, Mountain Lake Park, Merv Yoder and wife, Brenda, Bedford, Pa., Gary Yoder, Grantsville, Weldon “Woody” Yoder and wife, Ann, Moundsville, W.Va, Lowell Yoder and wife, Debbra, Frederick, Bradley Yoder and wife, Troya, Birmingham, Ala.; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted in the Cherry Glade Mennonite Church on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Barry Maust officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services.

Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Hospice of Garrett County.
