LILLIAN M. “MEMAW” MCGUIRE [Wiley Ford, W.Va.]

WILEY FORD, W.Va. — Lillian “Memaw” Martin McGuire, 77, of Wiley Ford, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center after a brief battle with pneumonia.

Born on April 7, 1936, Mrs. McGuire was the daughter of the late Ray and Louise Mongold. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Don Mongold; her husband, Joseph McGuire Jr.; and a stepdaughter, Tammy Woodcock.

Lillian was born and raised in Wiley Ford. She was a 1954 graduate of Ridgeley High School. Lillian did housework for many years and some families were lucky enough to have her for more than 30 years. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was “Memaw” to more people than we could count. Lillian was a phenomenal cook, and would always have enough to provide for many families. She was full of spunk and was always sure to tell you what was on her mind, whether it would hurt your feelings or not. Lillian had a very special heart and will be missed by many.

Lillian is survived by her brother, Charles A. Mongold and his children, Melissa, Maddie, and Charlie; her son, Michael Robinette; stepsons, John McGuire and wife, Tanya, and their children Johnny, Michael, Matt, and Klanton and Joseph McGuire III; and her stepdaughter, Mary Leighty and husband, Terry, and their children, Rob, James, Ashley, Melissa, and T.R. She also leaves behind her special grandchildren which she had a special hand in raising, Stacey Sgaggero and husband, Frank, Mikey Robinette and Reese Robinette; two great-grandsons, Owen and Ashton Sgaggero; and a special aunt, Sally Bennett.

As she requested, her body will be cremated.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013 at 4 p.m. at the Memorial Heights Baptist Church, 1419 E. Oldtown Road, Cumberland, with Pastor Chan Hubbard and Pastor Denny Michael officiating.

We would like to give a very special thank you to Tony and Joel Bollino and their entire family, who she loved as her own for many years. Also, thanks to Alan Emerick, Dave Steele, and Dolores Cifala whom she faithfully worked for.

The Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) is in charge of the arrangements.
