CUMBERLAND — Martha V. Gragg, 90, of Cumberland, went to be with her Lord, Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, at the Chateau of Golden Living Community.
Born May 17, 1923, in Beverly, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Richard H. Shiflett and Mary E. Vandevander. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard D. Gragg; son Howard D. Gragg Jr.; daughter Charlotte E. Griffith and half-sister Beatrice Vandevander.
She leaves behind two sons, Richard Gragg and wife Barbara and Eugene Gragg and wife Pamela, all of Cumberland and son-in-law Richard Griffith, of San Juan Capistrano, Calif.; six grandchildren, Michelle Goss and husband Andrew, Laura Gott, William Gragg, Stephanie Gibbs and husband Shawn, Stacey Bruton and husband Wayne, Jeannette Milburn and husband Steven; thirteen great-grandchildren, Angela Thompson and husband Cody, Jessica Goss, Melissa Goss, Lane Gott, Baily Gott, Blake Milburn, Ashley Gibbs, Logan Milburn, Alex Gibbs, Trevor Milburn, Addyson Gibbs, Marisa Bruton, Wayne Bruton III and one soon to be great-great-grandson, Noah Thompson.
Martha was a devoted wife, mother and much loved “Nanny” to her grandchildren. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, a graduate of their Bible Institute, and attended Cumberland Grace Brethren Church where she had many friends.
Family and friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, PA, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, (www.scarpellifh.com) on Friday, Nov. 1, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home Saturday, Nov. 2, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Raymond McCoy and Pastor Matthew Eichorn officiating.
Interment will be at the Davis Memorial Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Chateau, the Hospice Unit and special friends Tracey Root and Karen Higson for their love and care.
