MEYERSDALE, Pa. — James Paul “Jimmy” Lishia Jr., 63, of Meyersdale, passed away Feb. 26, 2013 at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown, Pa.

Born May 25, 1949, in Meyersdale, the son of the late James P. and Rose I. (Farber) Lishia. Also preceded in death by nephew, James Lishia III.

Survived by his wife, of 32 years, Cathy (Watson) Lishia; daughters, Amanda Lishia, Meyersdale, and Elizabeth McNulty and husband Patrick, Pittsburgh, Pa.; brothers, Ralph Lishia, Somerset, Pa., Frank Lishia and wife Jeanne, Silver Spring, and twin brother, Joseph Lishia, Normalville; grand-dogs, Riley, Vinnie, and Hudson. Also survived by special sister-in-law, Levada Ackerman, Meyersdale; special niece, Michelle Lishia; and special nephews, Rodger Werner and Jamie Werner and wife Michelle; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

Jimmy was the youngest bar owner in the state of Pennsylvania when he owned and operated Lishia’s Lounge for 27 years, then he operated the Rainbow Lounge from 1978-1985, which he reopened recently as the Rainbow Banquet Room. He was extremely proud that the tavern’s foundation includes stone that was obtained from the Sandpatch Tunnel, and it contains one of the Keystone from the tunnel entrance.

He also owned and operated 160 Auction House Store, Meyersdale where he proudly displayed his love and knack for antiques and was truly one of the original “pickers.”

A member of SS Philip and James Catholic Church, Meyersdale; B.P.O.E. Lodge 1951; MAMA; MAWG; and the Meyersdale Historical Society, where he donated a stone from the Sandpatch Tunnel to the Train Station, where it is currently displayed. Jimmy was honored to be a director of the historical society and spent many hours volunteering at the Western Maryland Train Station, which is the trailhead of the Great Allegheny Passage.

He loved the Meyersdale community and its history.

Friends will be received from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. with Father James M. Dugan officiating.

In lieu of flowers, and because of his love of his grand-dogs, memorial contributions in his name may be directed to Ohio Fuzzy Pawz Shih Tzu Rescue Inc., 426 Riva Ridge Road SW, Pataskala, OH 43062.

Condolences may be ex-pressed at www.William RowePrice.com.

Arrangements by William Rowe Price Funeral Home, Inc.
