FROSTBURG — Maxine Elizabeth Lyons, 68, of Frostburg, died on Friday, March 1, 2013, at her home surrounded by family.

Born April 10, 1944, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late George Whetstone and Margaret L. (Skelley) Whetstone. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Francis A. Lyons, on Jan. 31, 2013; brother, Joseph Whetstone and sisters, Judith A. Crissinger, Ruth Dudley and Rosalie Kyler.

Surviving are his four daughters, Melinda Robinson and husband Roger, of Joppa, Cindy Lyons, of Corrganville, Diane Lyons, of Ohio and Joanne Bevan and husband Joe, of Frostburg; five grandsons, Richard Marsh, Skyler Lyons, Vincent Mendez, Justin Mendez and Ethan Bevan; one granddaughter, Kylee Bevan; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, George Whetstone and wife Verann, Charles Whetstone and James Whetstone and wife Shelia and many nieces and nephews.

Maxine was a member of The Kingdom Hall for Jehovah Witnesses of Frostburg.

Friends and family will be received at Durst Funeral Home P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Monday, March 4, 2013, from noon to 2 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, March 4, at 7 p.m. following the viewing with Mr. Terry Furman officiating.

Maxine will be cremated in accordance with her wishes following the service.
