— MEYERSDALE, Pa. — Charles W. Hunter, 75, of Meyersdale, Pa., formerly of Frostburg, died Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.

Born Dec. 9, 1937 in Frostburg to the late Charles Walter Hunter and Geneva F. Filer; he is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Jack Wayne Hunter and a brother-in-law, John J. Augustine Jr.

Mr. Hunter was a member of Salem United Church of Christ and retired from Pittsburgh Plate and Glass as a Quality Control Inspector and later worked at Frostburg State University as a painter. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and also served in the Navy Reserves. Charlie was a member of the National Rifle Association, Allegany and Garrett County Sportsman Association, Savage Mountain Gun Club, and Casselman Valley Sportsman Club.

Surviving are his wife JoAnn (Hady) Hunter; children, Charles W. Hunter and wife Cheryl, Ridgely, Lori Ann Hunter-McKenzie and fiancé, Shawn Miller, Frostburg, Jeffrey Hunter and wife Cassie, Frostburg; two stepsons, Steven Albright and wife Laurie, Irwin, Pa. and Mark R. Albright and wife Martha, Meyersdale, Pa.; one sister, Geneva L. “Jeanne” Augustine, Frostburg. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Tara Hunter, Sadie McKenzie, Addie McKenzie, Keleigh Hunter and Kory Hunter; six step-grandchildren, Katie Albright, Rachel Albright, Kyle Albright, Carrie Albright, Megan Miller and Morgan Albright; one step-great-grandchild, Landon Miller; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and Family will be received at Durst Funeral Home P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral service will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dwayne Hay officiating.

Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to Salem United Church of Christ, 78 Broadway, Frostburg, MD 21532.
