HARRY SEGGIE [Mesa, Ariz.]

MESA, Ariz. — Harry Seggie, 86, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Accident and Frostburg, passed away Aug. 11, 2013.

Born Sept. 18, 1926, in Midlothian, he was a son of the late Charles and Pearl (Whitehead) Seggie. Harry was also preceded in death by his wife, Louise (Nicklow) Seggie; son George Seggie; daughter Susan Baker and three sisters Mary Leptic, Sarah Loar and Shirley Harman.

Harry is survived by brothers Charles Seggie, of Baltimore and Lloyd Seggie and wife Jean, of Myrtle Beach; sister Deanie Cutter, of Frostburg; friend Rachel Perez, of Mesa and several nieces and nephews.

Harry was a proud Army veteran who expelled his true valor during his medical battle. His sense of humor, ornery manner and determination were his weapons during the last two months of illness. Harry was a lifetime member of the Frostburg American Legion and Frostburg Elks Lodge 470. Harry and his wife Louise owned and operated businesses in Accident and Frostburg and Harry worked for Potomac Edison. He and Louise were very involved in Democratic Party politics on local, state and national levels. They shared invitations and pictures of inaugural balls, along with Democratic Party memorabilia.

Graveside services will be conducted at Frostburg Memorial Park on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Robert Culler officiating along with the Frostburg American Legion Farrady Post 24 providing military rites. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
