— ROMNEY, W.Va. — Mark Dwain Shockey, 45, of Romney, W.Va., died Thursday, May 2, 2013, at his residence.

Mark was born on Nov. 29, 1967, in Romney, W.Va., the son of Mildred Autumn (Cheshire) Zirk, of Romney and the late James Alfred Shockey. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Linda Faye Shockey and one brother, Bryan Allen Shockey.

Mark was a graduate of Hampshire High School, class of 1986. He was employed by Baugh Northeast, Front Royal, Va. as warehouse manager. He loved woodworking and built many pieces that he donated to be auctioned for Relay for Life. Mark was a wonderful loving husband, father and stepfather who always put his family first.

Mark is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Vicky Ann (Mangold) Shockey, having just celebrated their anniversary April 20, 2013; one son, Tyler J. Shockey, of Romney, W.Va., one daughter, Brandee N. Cain, of Cross Lanes, W.Va.; five brothers, Mike Shockey and wife Lisa, of Augusta, W.Va., Ronald Shockey and wife Rowanne, of Augusta, Alfred Shockey and wife Missy, of Augusta, James Shockey and wife Hali, of Slanesville and Robert Shockey and companion Alma, of Winchester, Va.; two sister; Bonnie Carter, of Romney and Pamela Mejia, of Fort Myers, Fla.; 12 nieces and nephews and his father and mother-in-law, Donald and Barbara Mangold, of Keyser, W.Va.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 3 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.  

There will be no service and interment will be at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Shaffer Funeral Home, Romney, W.Va.
