CHARLES “ED” LOEBER [Wellersburg, Pa.]

— WELLERSBURG, Pa. — Charles Edward “Ed” Loeber, 82, of Wellersburg, died Monday, May 20, 2013 at home.

Born May 24, 1930 in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Arthur Eugene Loeber and Leone C. (Meyers) Loeber.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Naomi (Crabtree) Loeber; and three siblings, Nina, Helen, and Richard.

Ed served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict.

He was retired from the Maryland State Police. Ed was proud to have served in law enforcement.

Mr. Loeber was a member of Mountain Lodge 99, A.F. & A.M.  

While in Florida, he enjoyed playing bass guitar with a local band.

Ed was the last immediate surviving member of his family. He is survived by many loving folks, including his best friend, Rich Witt.

Friends will be received at the Hafer Funeral Service, P.A. — Chapel of the Hills, 1302 National Highway, LaVale, on Wednesday from 1 to 3 p.m.

The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Kenneth L. Korns officiating.

Military honors will be accorded by Post 13 Veterans Honor Guard.

There will be a private entombment at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
