CUMBERLAND — Pete Wills, 82, of Cumberland, passed away at home on Saturday, April 12, 2014.
He was born on Jan. 27, 1932, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., the son of Mervin and Hester Wills (Landaker).
He is survived by his grandsons, Raymond Wills III and wife Bobbie, Michael Porter and wife Kelly; great-grandchildren, Michael, Alieshia and Brittany; one great-great-grandson, Bentley; and daughter-in-law, Ladonna Seifarth (Wills).
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hallie; son, Raymond Wills Jr.; daughter, Carolan Porter; his brother, Mervin “Buck” Wills; and sister, Audrey Dix.
Pete was known for his garage and body shop that he operated for many years in Cumberland. If it had wheels he could drive it and if it broke down he could fix it. He had many friends throughout the area. He loved his family and devoted most of his time ensuring their happiness. Pete loved to fish and travel. He followed Nascar, the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Washington Redskins. He could often be seen on his front porch with his dogs, talking to neighbors and passersby and feeding the birds.
He was a man with integrity and solid values as well as a raconteur with a terrific sense of humor. As did his wife, he donated his body and organs for medical research.
His family would like to extend their appreciation to Hospice care for making his last days as comfortable as possible.
