BEDFORD VALLEY, Pa. — Dorcil Wesley Kline Jr., 76, of Bedford Valley, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2013, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born Oct. 23, 1936, in Cumberland, Mr. Kline was the son of the late Dorcil Wesley Kline Sr. and Nettie Margaret (Clites) Kline. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Danelle Kline-Gilbert.
A graduate of Fort Hill High School, class of 1955, Dorcil also graduated from Frostburg State University, class of 1959, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. He was employed at the “Sports Shoppe” for seven years and worked at the Kelly-Springfield Tire and Rubber Company for 21 years before transferring to Akron, Ohio, and eventually retiring from Goodyear, Akron, in 1991. Dorcil was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church.
Dorcil was an avid baseball player. He loved hunting, fishing, and gardening. Dorcil enjoyed sharing his home grown produce with his family and friends.
Dorcil is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Shirley A. (Cook) Kline; and his sons, Kevin Kline and wife, Theresa, Bedford, Pa., Dorcil “Jake” W. Kline III and wife, Sherri, Cumberland, Shannon Kline and wife, Chrissy and Jeffrey Kline and wife, Cathy, all of Bedford, Pa. He also leaves behind his brother, James Kline and wife, Diana, Smithville, Ark.; as well as his grandchildren, Jesse Middle, Jennifer Kline, Nathan Kline, Abrienna Kline, Matthew Kline, Walker Kline, Emily Kline, and Cage Kline.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Thursday, March 7, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, March 8, 2013 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jack George officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Centenary United Methodist Church, 14501 Bedford Road, NE, Cumberland, MD 21502.
