MAYSVILLE, W.Va. — Clara Fae Martin, 88, of Maysville, W.Va., died Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011, at her home.
She was born Oct. 30, 1922, in Maysville, W.Va., and was a daughter of the late Victor Bible and Carrie Lucy (Feaster) Bible. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Vernon Martin on Nov. 8, 2010; one sister, Elva McAvoy; two brothers, Wardnie and Otha Bible and a foster brother, Leroy Sowers.
Mrs. Martin was a cook for Petersburg High School for 20 years. She was a member of Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church. She had been a volunteer at the Grant County Nursing Home.
Suriviving is one daughter, Betty E. Rohrbaugh and husband Jimmy, of Maysville, W.Va.; two sons, Vernon Brooks Martin and wife Lori, of Maysville, W.Va., and Robert Lee “Bobby” Martin and wife Diana, of Maysville, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Christina Dawson, Steve Martin, Connie Rohrbaugh and Chris Rohrbaugh; two stepgrandchildren, Bryce Berg and Brett Berg; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Mae Keplinger, of Cabins, W.Va., and special caregiver, Amanda Harman.
The family will receive friends Saturday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Rebecca Bennett, the Rev. Wade Sirk and the Rev. Steve Landis officiating.
Interment will be in South Branch Valley Memorial Gardens, Petersburg, W.Va.
