— CUMBERLAND — Carol J. (Geisel) Clawson, 69, of Cumberland, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.  

Born on Dec. 26, 1944, in Johnstown, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John and Luella (Warsing) Geisel. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Clarence Geisel and Harry “Bud” Geisel; one sister, Ruth Hearn.

Carol was a dedicated homemaker. She had also worked for Wal-Mart in Savannah, Ga., for 17 years, where she also was snack bar manager for 10 years. Carol was a member of Central Assembly of God Church. She was very proud of the fact that she participated as a teacher in Sunday School at First Assembly of God, and she also helped her husband for many years when he participated in the van ministry. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Surviving are her husband of 49 years, Frederick “Fred” Clawson; her two sons, Frederick Scott Clawson and Stephen Craig Clawson, both of Cumberland; her brother, John “Bill” Geisel and wife Judy of Johnstown; three sisters, Jackie Mock of Carlisle Pa., Goldie Parker of Oklahoma, Luella Dunlap of Nebraska; numerous nieces and nephews.

As per her request she will be cremated.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home P.A. ( 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Friday, April 26, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A memorial service will be conducted at Central Assembly of God Church on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Larry Green and Pastor Tom Lantz officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Scarpelli Funeral Home P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland.
