JAMES H. FEAGLES [Cumberland]

CUMBERLAND — James H. Feagles, 71, of Cumberland, died Sunday, June 16, 2013 at the WMHS Frostburg Nursing & Rehab Center.

Born May 15, 1942 in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Howard William Feagles and Mary Hilda (Odgers) Feagles.

Mr. Feagles earned and A.A. degree in Engineering from Allegany College of Maryland, and his B.A. degree from West Virginia University. In addition, he served his electrician’s apprenticeship with the B & O Railroad.

He served 28-1/2 months active duty with the U.S. Navy Seabees, with 16-1/2 months in Viet Nam. Mr. Feagles also served with I Core and at Port Hueneme, Calif.

Mr. Feagles had worked as an electrician at the B & O Railroad, Kelly-Springfield Tire Company, and Site R.

He had belonged to Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church and then joined Davis Memorial United Methodist Church. He also enjoyed following the Ever Increasing Faith Television Ministry. Mr. Feagles was a member of  VVA Chapter 172, Cumberland; AACA Car Club, Queen City Region Club of AACA, Plymouth Owners Club of America, Mayflower Mid-Atlantic Region Plymouth Car Club, and Walter P. Chrysler Car Club.

Survivors include his wife, Janice G. (Snyder) Feagles; his daughter, Meg (Feagles) Eline and her husband, Kevin, Charlotte, N.C.; cousins, Gary Browning, William Odgers, Margaret Jackson, David MacFarland, Francis Heavner, and Virginia Northcraft; and, a brother-in-law, Leon G. Snyder.

Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m.

The funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Robert Wellman officiating.

Interment will be in the Maryland State Veterans Cemetery, Rocky Gap, where military honors will be accorded by VVA Chapter 172.
