KERNERSVILLE, N.C. — George Thomas White, 61, of Kernersville, passed away on January 29, 2013 at his home after a five-month battle with lung cancer.
Born on Dec. 6, 1951 in Oakland, he was the fourth child of the late Daniel Lester and Thelma (Steyer) White. He was a graduate of Southern Garrett High School in Oakland. He pursued many careers in his life time and was employed by Ingersoll Rand as an electrician at the time of his passing.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Regina (Fisher) White, of Kernersville; one daughter, Kellie (White) Misenheimer and husband, Brian, of Oak Ridge, N.C.; one son, George T. White Jr. of Colorado; three grandchildren, Brayden, Nathan and Trevor; one brother, Daniel L. White Jr. and wife, Linda, of Baltimore; one sister, Betty (White) VanSlycke and husband, John, of Olney; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gerald Roger White.
A family prayer service was held on Jan. 29, 2013 in Kernersville.
A memorial service and interment will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the White Church Cemetery, Oakland. Family and friends are welcome.
